REPERTÓRIO N.1 with Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira

The work invests in the idea of dance as a self-defense training, using mimesis and ritualized repetition of gestures to produce a study of choreographed images by dissident bodies, in an attempt to collect actions to elaborate resistances and conjure ways of staying in the world to invent what's comes next. REPERTÓRIO N.1 names our constant challenge of positioning the choreography to respond to its own onto-epistemological conditions, to serve politically in the face of the situations in which it is being practiced (police violence, destruction of nature, endless colonial violence).

REPERTÓRIO N.1 with Davi Pontes and Wallace Ferreira

WHAT IF..? with Jota Mombaça, Kenia Freitas, Diego Paulino and Anti Ribeiro
Where do the possibilities that history discards go? How to access the dreams, images, voices and forces that make up the map of what could have been? In this conversation, Jota Mombaça invites Kenia Freitas, Diego Paulino and Anti Ribeiro to talk about the radical potential of the question 'What if…?', Opening space for considerations about the relationship between memory and fable, and about the politically regulated dimension of what we understand as a possibility.

VISIONARY FICTION LABORATORY is a platform for sharing and producing knowledge around speculative fictions and their ways of interacting with the present struggles for social justice in Brazil and beyond. In this edition of the Laboratory, we will test ways of extrapolating the captivity of contemporary political imagination to other ways of understanding and experiencing the domains of memory and possibility.
